The Burning Season picked up a nomination today for Best Feature Film, from the Writers Guild of Canada’s annual Awards, which honours the best in Canadian film and TV screenwriting. Jonas Chernick and Diana Frances co-wrote the screenplay for the dramatic feature film, which recently won a jury award for Best Screenplay at the Whistler Film Festival. The Burning Season is set to be the Closing Night Gala at the Canadian Film Festival on March 23rd in Toronto, before it is released theatrically later in the spring. The WGC Awards will be handed out at an event on May 13 in downtown Toronto.
