WGC Award for Best Feature Film Goes to The Burning Season

The Burning Season has won the Writers Guild of Canada award for Best Feature Film, marking the third prize the film has picked up for its screenplay, after jury awards at both the Whistler Film Festival and the Canadian Film Festival. Screenwriters Jonas Chernick and Diana Frances were on hand to accept the award at the ceremony held at Toronto’s Koerner Hall. The Burning Season is currently playing in select theaters across Canada, including the Varsity in Toronto, and Cineplex McGillivray in Winnipeg, and will have its broadcast premiere in Canada on Hollywood Suite in August, before airing on the CBC in 2025.
